CONCORD, NC - As competitors continue to gear up for the Carolina Summer Nationals for the RLV Tuned Exhaust Products Gold Cup Series June 24-26 at Carolina Motorsports Park in Kershaw, South Carolina, it is important to note that the Tier 2 deadline for drivers who have not yet entered is closing in fast, with a deadline of Wednesday June 15 fast approaching. The Kershaw event will mark the second of 4 events for the prestigious 4 Cycle program, coming off a successful season opener in Jacksonville, Florida where 6 drivers walked away with a $500 payday, 6 more took home $250, and another 6 netted $150 by virtue of the new purse structure implemented this year in several classes.
Some drivers added to those winnings by taking part in the Shootout races Friday night, sponsored by Brads Heating and Cooling, with winners getting $200, second paying $100, and the third place finishers coming away with $50, as well as awards for the top 3. Additionally, money was won in the Senior Pro Gas Money race as well, giving the large percentage in attendance many opportunities to take home some purse money.
That same theme will continue at Kershaw in a few weeks, as the best in 4 Cycle Sprint racing tackle the Palmetto State complex.
Activities get underway Friday morning with a full day of practice, beginning at 8:30am, and running till 4:30pm. At 4:45, the Sportsman and Junior Pro Gas drivers will take to the track for qualifying, followed by their 10 lap Shootout events paying $200 to win. The Senior Pro Gas Money Race will wrap the Friday festivities up with a full day of 11 national classes Saturday and Sunday kicking each day off at 8:30am, with practice, qualifying, a heat race, followed by their respective main events, with additional laps added to the respective mains in Sportsman, Junior, and Senior classes, giving competitors more track time for the second national event of the season.
