The following Tech Updates were approved by the Board of Trustees, and are effective immediately.

 

115.1 – HEAD GEAR

Add: Snell K-2015 Helmets are permissible in all WKA Sanctioned Events, no earlier versions

 

214.5.1 – KA100 JUNIOR

TIRES: One new set of tires required each day for qualifying.

CHANGE TO: One new set of tires required on day 1.  The same set must be used for qualifying on day 2.

 

214.6 – IAME JUNIOR

MINIMUM WEIGHTS: 320 lbs.

CHANGE TO: 330 lbs.

 

214.9 – KA100 SENIOR

TIRES: One new set of tires required each day for qualifying.

CHANGE TO: One new set of tires required on day 1.  The same set must be used for qualifying on day 2.

 

362.10 – TAG JUNIOR, Final 1 & Final 2

Add: Rotax FR125 Jr is permitted, (see section TM-609 for engine specifications)

DELETE:

Ignition: OEM Only

Transmission: OEM transmission ratios only.  Components may not be machined to reduce weight.  Clutch discs, plates, springs, and hardware may be aftermarket.  Slipper clutch, axles clutch, or Sprag units are allowed.

Change to: A Replacement Driver may be used if a driver cannot compete in the event as a result of injury from that event.  The Race Director must approve the replacement driver.  Replacement drivers cannot be WKA National Champions in the past two comepetition-years. The replacement drver may qualify his/her own kart, but must start at the rear of the field.

104.4.6 Releife Drivers - Road Race

Requires 26mm header.
