CONCORD, NC - The 2 Moffett sisters are heading into the 2015 racing season with an opportunity to participate in the WKA RLV Exhaust Gold Cup Series.
Talia, 13, will be participating in the Van K Wheels Junior Pro Gas Lite and Brad’s Heating and Cooling Junior Pro Gas Heavy classes.
Talia, a past Class Champion at Midstate Kart Club in Illinois, made a trip to G and J Raceway in 2014 for the Michigan Kart Supply Nationals and the team was able to experience the Gold Cup atmosphere and people for the first time.
Madi, 12, also a past Class Champion at MSKC will be participating in the Thor Oil Junior LO206 class.
“As with every event we go to, we expect to be competitive, work hard and ensure we have a positive impact on the weekend of racing. “said MKG(MoffettKartingGroup.com) head Kevin Moffett. “They are both very competitive, but in their own way. If you tell Madi to do something on the track, you better be clear because she’s going to do it. Talia, she sometimes needs to be converted to your way of thinking. Converted, that’s a nice way to put it. We look forward to seeing how well they adapt to the series, the tracks and most importantly the other competitors.”
Talia, running a 2015 Coyote WT, powered by a Turner Racing Engines ‘Bad Boys’ Briggs and Stratton Animal, “This is a great chance for us to experience the Gold Cup racing all summer. Don’t know what else I could ask for. Racing with my dad, Bob, and Uncle Kevin is great, but also hard work as we are expected to turn wrenches as well. Madi and I have always been involved in the maintenance and prep work on our karts. Having Ryan Cassity to talk too about driving has been a great help as well.”
Madi, running her 2013 Coyote XP powered by a Turner Racing Engines ‘Bad Boys’ Briggs and Stratton LO 206, “Can’t wait to get this season going. Racing and traveling with family will be great and the pressure we put on ourselves is even higher than what Dad and Uncle Kevin can know. We are so happy with where we are, from the helmets Uncle Kevin painted up for us to spending time with all of the family at our local track. Also can’t miss saying thanks to Mom and Grandma for trying to keep us all in line.”
“We have to put a shout out to everyone that has helped, Ryan Cassity Racing and Coyote Motorsports, Cort Turner at Turner Racing Engines. Thank you to Russ, Tiffany and Brixley Wilkin at Work 4 It, Inc. for their much appreciated support.  We appreciate the team at Laukaitis Racing for having the parts on hand to get us through the season. Having Mike Curry, Matthew and Kent just a few miles up the road from home has been a blessing.”
