“CMS to be official travel agency for series in 2018”

Compass Management Solutions (CMS) and the World Karting Association Manufacturers Cup have partnered up for 2018 racing season. CMS will setup and maintain hotel room blocks for the remainder of the 2018 season as the WKA program changes leadership to work towards a common goal to promote karting.

“Compass Management Solutions is in place is to save racers time and money when booking hotel accommodations,” explained Kevin Williams, President of the WKA. “Travel expenses can add up quickly in a season full of racing but we have worked with CMS in the past and they have been a great asset.”

“Compass Management Solutions is happy to partner with the World Karting Association Manufacturers Cup for the remainder of the 2018 season,” added Mike Maurini. “We are happy to assist racers by providing time and communication to aid the efforts in setting up and maintaining hotels during the season.”

mancup.png

Popular Program Gets Immediately Added to the National Class Structure for 2018

CONCORD, NC - Responding to Member comments and requests to bring back the popular Kid Kart Category back to the National Scene, the WKA Board of Trustees recently responded to member requests by voting the class back into the WKA Bridgestone Man Cup as a National Class at their recent meeting.

“One of the many strengths of WKA has always been that we have a place in the organization for everyone,” stated WKA President John Ferris, “And when the participants in the Kid Kart Class expressed that they had nowhere to gain experience on a national level, the Trustees heard, understood and responded to that call.  The system our organization was founded on worked, and these important members were heard.”

The popular category for aspiring young drivers will be added to the Bridgestone Manufacturers Cup class list immediately, and entries for the upcoming event at the popular GoPro Motorplex in Mooresville, NC, scheduled for March 23-25, 2018.

Tech Regulations are as printed in the 2018 WKA Technical Manual, 214.1 KID KART.  Legal fuel will be the same as all other classes, Sunoco 110, mixed with Redline Oil, 8-oz., per gallon.

Entry forms and additional information is available by following the Series Link to the WKA Bridgestone Manufacturer's Cup Series on the WKA website, www.WorldKarting.com

2018 Manufacturer's Cup Update

mancup.png

CONCORD, NC - Beginning with the first race of the 2018 season in Daytona, December 27-30, 2017, WKA will be introducing a tire distribution system for all their Manufacturer's Cup Series events.

The reasoning behind this plan is two-fold:

1. This eliminates any rumors about tires that may have circulated in the past.

2. It serves as a small profit center for our organization. WKA is a company that operates on a daily basis with full time employees, overhead and obligations that we incur daily.

The race tires for each event will be included in your entry fee.  Your Race tires will be available for pickup during registration pick up at each track.  Racers will still have to supply their own practice tires. The Micro Swift, Mini Swift, and Yamaha Sportsman racers that raced at The Grand Nationals at Go Pro, still will have to pay their entry fee that includes one set of race tires but for the Daytona event you will be given a free set of practice tires that you will pick up during registration pick up courtesy of Bridgestone.

Shortly, WKA will be introducing a new bar coding system for tires, engines and chassis which will make the WKA racing experience as simple, smooth and enjoyable as possible for all competitors from initial registration thru on track activities.

The Manufacturer's Cup online registration and paper entry blank are now posted on the website.

To be taken to the online registration, CLICK HERE.

Thank you for your support of the WKA and hope to see you during the 2018 season.

Reminder to IAME Junior and Senior Participants

mancup.png

CONCORD, NC - Per the WKA Board of Trustees Meeting in May of 2017, beginning with the season opening Manufacturers Cup Series event at Daytona in December, the IAME Junior Restricted Header Size will be changed to 26mm. The 29mm header that was used in the 2017 season will no longer be valid.

Additionally, for both the IAME Junior and Senior classes, the only spark plugs that will be accepted are the NGK-6252K-105 and the NGK-6254E-105. The only exception to this is for a declared rain event, in which the NGK-B10EG and NGK-BR10EG are also acceptable.

WKA AND BRIDGESTONE ANNOUNCE MORE FREE TIRES FOR WKA MANUFACTURERS CUP

mancup.png

“Free tires for all that enter the event at the GoPro Motorplex”

CONCORD, NC - With the World Karting Association (WKA) Manufacturers Cup finale set to take the green flag this coming weekend, series officials extend entry deadline while Bridgestone Tires announce free tires for all competitors that are entered.

“Due to a logistical issue with the shipper of the container, YLC rear tires will not arrive in time for the Mooresville event, therefore Bridgestone is unable to supply enough rear tires for the YLC classes.  Bridgestone contacted the series on the morning of Friday, October 6 to put a plan in place,” explains WKA President John Ferris.

All drivers in Yamaha Junior, Yamaha Senior, IAME Junior and IAME Senior will receive two sets of race tires and one additional set of practice tires of the YNB compound. If you are in LO206 or the KA100 classes you will receive two sets free of charge, one for practice and one for race competition. Additionally, seeing that the KA100 class is only going to be run on Saturday and the tires for that class are now free the entry fee has been reduced to $140.00 but still includes Friday practice and Saturday race fees as well as the tires.

“I understand the circumstances are not perfect but one thing has to be said about our sponsorship with Bridgestone and the people in Nashville,” continues John Ferris. “They have stepped up for WKA and their members; this is one of the reasons myself andprevious WKA presidents have chosen to work with Bridgestone. Dealing with such a large company that has its full recourses at our disposal, that is a true partnership we both share.”

Bridgestone understands the need to help all the WKA members that have entered the Mooresville, North Carolina event. Bridgestone will be giving all the drivers in Yamaha Sportsman, Pro Swift and Mini Swift a free set of tires at Daytona Kart week that are pre-entered this weekend, keeping to their word, “Free for All!” And to clarify, the Cadet classes will still be on YLC for Mooresville.

WKA is keeping its online entry open until 11:59pm Tuesday, October 10 and the offer of free tires will only apply to pre-registered entrants. WKA urges competitors to not waste their time getting entered for the event and welcome them to come get a few free sets of tires as well as enjoy the Friday evening cookout.

To enter the WKA Manufacturers Cup event this weekend at the GoPro Motorplex, CLICK HERE.

Ferris concludes, “With the free tires available and the extended entry deadline, we are hoping to attract even more drivers to one of WKA’s best facilities.”

In summary, if you are in Yamaha Junior, Yamaha Senior or IAME Junior and IAME Senior that were announced to receive free tires in a media release three weeks ago, all will receive three sets of YNB tires at no charge. Competitors in LO206 or KA100 will receive two sets for free while KA100 will receive two sets and a reduction in the entry price. All the drivers in Yamaha Sportsman, Pro Swift and Mini Swift will receive a free set of tires at WKA Daytona Kart Week that are pre-entered this weekend.
